We live in an unusual house. Originally it was a two up and two down, Victorian farm cottage but at the turn of the last century a Mission Hall was built between our cottage and the cottage next door. When we bought the house in 1983, we had great plans for the “hovel” and in the first few years were able to put stage 1 and stage 2 into operation, extending and rationalizing our new home. Bringing up our two daughters meant that we were unable to contemplate the final stage of our “grand design” until 2006.
We were very pleased that we waited because finding our builder made our dreams come true, for we wanted to find someone who would build the new extension to fit with the cottage and Mission Hall and to care for the older part of our home. Graham Wilkinson and his team fitted the bill. Graham & I worked closely together and made some changes to the architect’s plans which really improved the new build. So much so that it looks and more importantly feels like the extension has always been there.
As well as a good eye for design, the quality of building work was very high. Graham always informed me fully of what was happening and when, and in the six months of the build there was only one day when we did not have someone working on or in the new extension. The two storey extension increased the size of our home by at least a third so it was a sizable extension. To enable me to continue to run my Pilates business during the build, Graham made substantial alteration to the Mission Hall. This was not an easy task and had to fit into a tight deadline.
Graham & his team were always very professional, friendly and helpful, leaving the site clean and tidy each day. They coped well with my two dogs who still miss them. As with any build there were one or two snags after completion but each time I had a problem, Graham or one of the team would be back to sort out the problem within 24 hours. That is what I call service.
I would not hesitate to use Graham and his team again and would recommend them to anyone, especially if you have an unusual building that you love and want to improve. I am very happy for prospective Clients to come and view our extension and courtyard, of which we are so very proud,

We appointed GRW Construction LTD in 2007 to build a substantial extension to our property. The extension comprised expanding the dimensions or our 1930’s house by around 50% together with external groundworks.
We appointed GRW Construction LTD after competitive tender. The firm presented a competitive price based upon a detailed specification of works and had previously carried out work for another family member.
We are very satisfied with the end result. The firm has implemented the extension with care and was able to meet our desire for the extension to appear as if it were part of the original construction.
The project was well managed. The project manager delivered the scope of works to the agreed price. Where additional works were required or where the scope of work changed during the project he provided variation costing in advance of completing any work. In addition, the team consulted with us regularly on any unforeseen issues that arose and when there were a number of possible solutions to construction procedures.
The people of GRW Construction LTD were a pleasure to work with and we recommend them to you.
